How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I have naturally curly hair and i have received many many bad hair cuts. I knew exactly how it should look, lay, and curl. Because of this, I focused on making sure that every curly head I cut was cut the way I innately knew how it should be done.

What's your technique?

After hair has been shampooed and conditioned, I leave hair mosty wet and add a leave-in conditioner to help eliminate frizz, I scrunch hair after initial trim is done to see how curls are forming. I the layer hair using a point cutting technique and scrunch the hair to see how the curls form and fall all while keeping hair mostly wet. when layering is done, I cut the frame around the face. Once iniyial cut is complete, I use texture shears to take out heavy area so that the curls fall nicely.

What products do you like best?

My favorite product by far is AG Fastfood leave-in conditioner and AG Recoil curl activating creme.

Any advice for other stylists?

Recommend your clients to use a hair turban to wrap their still soaking hair rather than a towel. Towels act like velcro to curl hair and makes it frizzy and the turban keeps the hair wet enough that the you can dry off after a shower and style your hair without it starting to dry and frizz.

What's the hottest curly trend?

Retro style. Either long or retro elevated bob.
