How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I learned about curly, natural hair in 2005. I transitioned out of my relaxer in 2006. Spending that intimate time with my hair inspired me to go to cosmetology school

What's your technique?

This depends on what testure of hair I am cutting. I like to cut curls with a very defined curl or wave patter wet. looser curls, if healthy I cut dry. During consultation, I would see what your goal is and choose the best technique to achieve desired outcome

What products do you like best?

I like the Aveda products. Because I am an Aveda trained stylist, I can achieve great results on any texture, with the Aveda Be Curly and other Aveda produts

Any advice for other stylists?

Love curls and they will love you back

What's the hottest curly trend?

A nicely defined head of curls is always trendy and works for any texture. The curlhawk is in full bloom this spring! you can make it look very edgy or really professional and chic
