How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I am East Indian, Myan, Spanish, and African. I've had curly hair all my life so working with curly hair come quite natural for me. I really came to fall in love with my own hair when I cut it very short after flat ironing it straight for years. Since then,

What products do you like best?

Mixed Chicks Leave in Conditioner, Label M Curl Cream, Kenra Curl Cream, Unite, 7-seconds Leave-In, Unite Boing Curl Cream are my favorite go-to products as of now. =) I stick with creams because they leave the hair the most moisturized, defined, and soft. I love to try new products. I'm kind of a product junky and become my own ginny pig when I find out about a cool new curly hair product. Oh! Argan oil has save my hair and many of my clients hair! It de-frizzes, mends split ends, and moisturizes even the driest hair.

Any advice for other stylists?

1) Stay confident and positive at all times with a client. They believe in you so you must believe in yourself. 2) Be honest with your client. They are coming to you trusting you know the best for their hair. Sometimes they may ask more than you can give in one day. So let them know up front what you can do that day and create goals for how they would eventually like their hair in the future. 3)Educate your clients! Find out how they would like their hair to look and show them how to create the style they are looking for. From product knowledge to diffusing the hair dry, walk them through it step by step and they will appreciate you for it.

What's the hottest curly trend?

Its all about volume! The bigger the hair the better. But keeping it frizz free at the same time. =)
