How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I have it myself and many of my friends have it As a stylist I noticed that a lot of bad cuts happen because most haircuts are taught on straight hair and no one considers that all curls aren't created equal. So I decided to start some work on models to see what the best ways of cutting, coloring, and styling curly hair are. Curls are fun and embracing them can save you lots of time and energy when styling your hair.

What's your technique?

I think that you have to adjust your cutting technique to the texture and curl pattern of each individual client.

What products do you like best?

Bumble and Bumble curl conscious line is awesome. I also like Curl Pudding. Things with lots of moisture. There are lots of new things on the market and I love playing with them all

Any advice for other stylists?

Don't be afraid to try something new. Curls are FREE texture...use them to your advantage!!

What's the hottest curly trend?

I love the big curly hair. There is nothing hotter that a girls who has big, non-frizzy curls that are bouncy and fun. You can change from business to fun and funky with just a few bobby pins while you're walking down the street. No mirror, no products...just you natural curls and a few pins. How AWESOME is that?!?!
