How did you learn to cut curly hair?

Being naturally curly myself.....was the best teacher I know!

What's your technique?

I believe in a precision layer cut as the best cutting techique for curly hair.

What products do you like best?

I have used Redken products all during my 31 year career, behind the chair, in my salon and at home. I like to use all of Redken products for curly hair, mine included.

Any advice for other stylists?

Listen to your client and take your time and give a good haircut, whether a precision or a textured cut. You can't hide your mistakes in curly hair as some believe! I always know when I have been given an uneven cut! I don't like how it feels so I always make sure my clients leave the salon with a good cut! A good haircut is the foundation of a good hairstyle.

What's the hottest curly trend?

I believe that the newest and hottest curly trend right now is the soft waves that will be a good transition from the straight styles of the past few years back into the curly looks of the near future!
