How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I took a few classes and learned a ton from the very talented stylists I work with. Not to mention I am a curly girl myself!

What's your technique?

My favorite is long layers that allow my clients to wear it curly with out the dreaded "triangle head" as well as straight with out "steppy layers" I prefer to overdirect the hair from side to side as well as softening the layers when the hair is straight if the client likes to wear it both ways.

What products do you like best?

Aquage defining gel, Alterna Texture cream, Enjoy texture cream, Enjoy mousse, Pureology power dressing, Enjoy hair and skin oil, Enjoy shine and smooth, Enjoy straightener

Any advice for other stylists?

Don't be scared, get educated!

What's the hottest curly trend?

I don't know that there is one right now. I would guess the beachy tousseled look is pretty popular.
