How did you learn to cut curly hair?
I learned from watching others who were masters! Also, my father, brother, & my husband's family all have varying curliness. I've learned a lot from working on their hair. My Clients are usually surprised that a strait-haired-girl can understand their woes so well! I LOVE curly hair!!!
What's your technique?
I call it "pruning". Cut it dry and "where it lives" I really think the best approach to cutting curly girls & guys to to cut "with" the hair's natural organic movement.
What products do you like best?
I am a huge fan of L'anza Bungee & Design Cream and I LOVE AG FastFood & Re:Coil.
Any advice for other stylists?
Don't be afraid of curlys... and, avoid the desire to cut curls wet!
What's the hottest curly trend?
Right now letting hair look "air-dried" into beachy waves if really big. Or, creating that look with hot curl-sticks on not-so-cooperative hair.
