How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I learned to cut curly hair during my days in elementary school. I cut all of my friends' hair for 1st day back to school, picture day and proms. Then after two years of college I went to cosmetology school and learned the correct technique for cutting all hair types. After graduating cosmetology school, and still today, I take continuing education classes for hair cutting.

What's your technique?

My technique for cutting curly hair is to make sure while cutting each section, the hair is pulled out straight and even with the next section. I may cut the hair dry or wet depending on curl type and length.

What products do you like best?

I love to use Moroccan Oil Intense Curl Cream, Narobi Setting Lotion, Jane Carter's Condition n Sculpt and MixedChicks Leave in Conditioner Styling Cream.

Any advice for other stylists?

My advice for stylists is to know your client and their hair. Every client has different hair and every product will not work for all. And always keep learning. The industry changes every day with new, more innovative techniques and products, and if you're not doing what's new the next stylist it. Stay focused and have fun

What's the hottest curly trend?

I love BIG sexy curly hair with color. Summer is coming so big beachy curls will be seen all over.
