How did you learn to cut curly hair?

Practice! Many things came into play. I have curly hair, my daughter is bi-racial so I have experience with her hair, I was raised around many different cultures and always played with my friends hair growing up. I guess you say trial and error!

What's your technique?

Depends on the hairtype, but precision layering and over-direction works best on most clients to alleviate bulk and gaps.

What products do you like best?

I have tried everything but I have to say that i like what works best for the individual. I am really liking Kenra curl Defining Creme right now and use it myself. Update on 5/24/11- I am currently using Deva Curls and loving it. Also added the Pravana Perfection into my line. Been having great experiences with it.

Any advice for other stylists?

If you are on this sight you probably have curls, so I won't be pretentious. But I guess my theory on curls has always been health is #1 and love on each curl. Curls like to to be handled with love!

What's the hottest curly trend?

I think it is the stacked bob gone curly. I love that we took a predominately straight style and made it our own!
