How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I have curly hair so I figured out what didn't work fast enough. I had a lot of clients with curly hair too but the Graham Webb Academy was the tipping point for me. I have taken every advanced class they offer. It is a comprehensive education for professionals.

What's your technique?

I assess the need of the client and her particular hair type and decide on wet cutting or dry, sometimes both. Each head of hair is different, there is no one way, just the best way for the head of hair you are working on.

What products do you like best?

Jessicurl, Curly Hair Solutions and we carry the full line of Schwarzkopf, and use their haircolor as well.

Any advice for other stylists?

Get a solid foundation from a professional academy. I was told once to learn the rules, bend the rules then break the rules and that leads to creativity.
