How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I learned to cut curly hair by just doing it. I also use to work in a barber shop and I picked up some good techniques there. I have been cutting and styling curly hair for the past ten years.

What's your technique?

I let the hair fall where it will and cut or I make my partings while hair is wet and cut. I don't put any tension on it because I can get a good precision result leaving it to its own integrity.

What products do you like best?

I prefer using Mizani products. Its light with built in conditioning. I also have a line of products of my own that works well also. They are leave-in conditioners as well as at-home maintenance for frizz control and curl definition.

Any advice for other stylists?

Keep up the good work with the care of curly hair. Moisture and protien is much needed and too much heat on curly hair is damaging so we have to style using good product, imagination and to stress good nutrition to our clients.

What's the hottest curly trend?

As you like it. I myself prefer a funky shape and a crimped style using a technique that only curly hair can express.
