How did you learn to cut curly hair?

Well, having curly hair myself, I learned what didnt work for my curly hair. i know how difficult it is to find someone who not only knows how to cut curly hair but isnt afraid to take there time with each individual client.

What's your technique?

Usually, what i like to do is assess the hair when its wet. I DO NOT DRY CUT. After combing it out with a wide tooth comb(NEVER A BRUSH), I section the hair so what i like to call "reading the curls". basically looking at what the curls want to do and the pattern it prefers. Please note: I am only capable of working with curly patterns 3c or lower. I am NOT experienced with extremely course, kinky or ethnic hair. I've done my fair attempts. trust me. you dont want me for that. 3c or lower, i'll curly-rock ur world!!!

What products do you like best?

I really enjoy using DevaCurl No-Poo because of the moisture factor. As far as styling products go, i dip into everything. im a cocktail junkie myself. but what as worked for me is AG Details and the Deva Curl ArcAngel, mixed together of course.

Any advice for other stylists?

Take your time!! Read the hair. It'll tell you exactly what it will and wont do.
