How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I have been a hairdresser for 24 years, cutting my own curly hair for over 15 years because of bad cuts. I have participated in the Curlaboration class at the Devachan Salon in NYC. I just use my eyes to tell me where to trim.

What's your technique?

I use the Deva hair cutting technique.

What products do you like best?

I use the Deva line exclusively. I find there really is no better product on the market for curly hair. When clients tell me they didn't like the line, I tell them "Then you are not using it correctly, let me help and you WILL love it."

Any advice for other stylists?

Stop touching curly hair when it is dry! No fingers through it, don't lift and drop, trying to create volume. Just don't touch it too much.
