How did you learn to cut curly hair?

After discovering my hair was curly after years of believing it was just "poofy," I felt like I found a new side of myself I never understood! After that, my passion for curly hair began and I attended Paul Mitchell the School Memphis... I later attended an all day cutting class on the DevaCurl method. I have also attended two additional courses at Devachan in NYC. I love showing people the true beauty of their hair and what nature wants it to be!

What's your technique?

The DevaCurl cutting method.

What products do you like best?

I love DevaCare No Poo, DevaCare One Condition, and the Ultra Defining Gel works wonders on helping me achieve 3rd and 4th day hair. Plus I touch up with the Styling Cream (I swear it smells like Skittles!).

Any advice for other stylists?

Go to as many classes as you can and seek out all the knowledge you can to keep up with what's new and in! Really listen to your clients, and smile!

What's the hottest curly trend?

Balayage highlights on curls are absolutely gorgeous and more natural looking, but I'm also loving the funky colored curls, too!
