How did you learn to cut curly hair?

I've been natural myself for over 16 years. I studied in a hair care academy - we don't have any schools teaching curly techniques in the Dominican! Even if it was not a natural hair program, I got to ask many questions about natural hair care. The rest I learned doing my own research and 3+ years as a professional curly/natural stylist.

What's your technique?

I’ve adapted traditional hair cutting techniques to curly hair and depending on the definition of the curl and the density I cut dry or wet.

What products do you like best?

I really enjoy using Kinky Curly products. I also make my own natural creams and conditioners.

Any advice for other stylists?

Many times our clients come to us with a very low self esteem because they don't know how to manage their hair. Be patient and try to empower them so they can see the beauty of their hair and how it can benefit their overall look style.

What's the hottest curly trend?

The use of vibrant colors! Balayage and Ombre are pretty in now too!
