How did you learn to cut curly hair?
I myself have super curly hair, so it was one of those things where very few people would cut it unless they knew how to work with curly hair.
What's your technique?
I typically go off how often the person wears their hair curly. If they wear it straight much more often, I will flat iron it and cut it dry. If they wear it curly, I will cut it when it's wet and barely take anything off, due to the curl shrinking up when dry and appearing shorter than what it is.
What products do you like best?
Aveda- Be Curly have been some of my absolute favorite products to use on curly hair. I also love Kevin Murphy Motion Lotion and a few products by AG. If the hair is african amaerican type, I will use the KeraCare, generally.
Any advice for other stylists?
Always ask how often the client flat irons their hair, also let them know the effects of what bleach can do to their curl pattern in the long run.
What's the hottest curly trend?
Almost an asymmetrical effect on shorter hair.
