Got this book back in March 2015. Literally changed my life. No more blow drying, flat ironing, curling irons, shampoo or silicone. Nine years ago, I moved into a house with VERY hard well water. Even with a softener system, my water is still somewhat hard. My 2b/2c colored hair went from wavy curly to dry brittle straw in a matter of weeks and as the years went on became very damaged. Nothing helped. No more wash and go. Had to use boatloads of conditioners, styling products and heat. Clarifying shampoos and treatments made things worse. I was very unhappy with my hair. Most days I wore it in a pony tail or hid it under hats. In March I happened upon Renpure conditioning wash (cue choirs of angels) and shortly after found this book. Co-washing made an immediate change in my hair. My hair was back to wavy curly. The book explained it all. The more I continued to co-wash, the better my hair was. As damaged as it was, it looked and felt great, couldn't even see the breakage. A little leave in conditioner and a little styling product after co-washing is all it needs. Maybe a few drops of jojoba on day 3. A few months ago, I cut four inches off to be rid of most of the damage. Got a really cute mop-top layered cut. At this point, it's even healthier than before I moved into my hard water house! Also, I no longer brush my hair and will NEVER use sulfites in my hair again . I only blow dry style it every once in a while, I much prefer my easy co-wash and go. A must read for curly girls.

I don't want to be lame and say something cheesy like "THIS BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE!" but.... this book really did change my life. I have been FIGHTING my natural curls all of my life. I discovered the diffuser in college, which was a huge help, but finding the right products to manage my curl pattern has plagued me for so long that I finally just gave up. When I bought this book, I had been flat ironing my hair FOR YEARS and I was pretty much resigned to having a long, arduous styling routine for the rest of my life. Enter the CG method. This is worth every penny and EVERY curly girl should read it. It's all I can do to bite my tongue when I see people with puffy, frizzy hair and tell them what they are missing. It's simply the best!

It's tailored to all curly types. I like it so much I'm going to buy it again as a gift! I have two strands in and this book is already changing my life. The Best Is Yet To Come!!!

This book has helped me a lot! I have struggled with my frizzy thick 3a-3c hair all my life. My mom didn't know what to do with it, i didn't know what to do with it, my friends wanted me to straighten it, and it was washed and brushed regularly. The frizz was unreal. When I did straighten it it was still frizzy and thick, not sleek and smooth at all. This book opened my eyes and has taught me a lot in a world that really had no idea what to do with me lol.

Love this book, even if you don't do the curly girl method or use the devacurl products this book, is still a must for anyone that is curly, going natural or in transition. Much of the information in the book is helpful in understand curly hair as far as the how and why it behaves the way it does. I have been using the devacurl products along with coconut oil and doing the cg method for about 4 months now and I can tell a huge difference in my hair, in fact my dandruff that I once had is now completely gone.

I agree with a lot of what's in the book, however I found the book kind of preachy and lacking in research

This Book is amazing! I follow it "religiously"! My hair is no longer frizzy and hard to detangle. I follow the curly girl hair routine for my corkicelli/corkscrew hair. I use DevaCurl´s no-poo, one-condition and light-defining gel. I never want to blow-dry or straighten my hair again!

This book is amazing- I made the lavender spray and used it this morning for the first time. I have "cherub curls" that misbehave and frizz in the summer, and have never seen a product restore my curls and shine so quickly. I highly recommend this, and will consider it my "Hair Bible" from now on.Curly hair rules!

This book is very useful and has good general knowledge for curls of all types. However, it is geared more towards 2's and 3's not necessarily all 4's (there is a chapter for 4a's and b's). There are good tips, but those with more coils and kinks should read CurlyNikki's new book "Better Than Good Hair."

This book is truly a find especially as I continue to accept my natural hair. The process of cleaning and detanglement of my hair has become so much easier. In doing my hair after reading this book I have received a lot of compliments and before this book I hate doing my hair.

This book is simply amazing and full of information I never knew - who would thought I was mistreating my own hair my entire life! Education is key, I always thought expensive products and expensive hair cuts were the answer but I was never REALLY happy with my hair until now - I have more confidence & spunk just like my curls - I finally feel like my outside and inside match!
