It's too gentle. That's all I can say. If I was maybe a 2a-3a, I MIGHT like the product, but no... I would not use this on a daily/weekly basis.

I used this for a while some years ago, because it was the best of what I ever tried at that time. According to Ouidad's specific curl-typing, the products recommended for me were the Clear & Gentle Shampoo, the Balancing Rinse Conditioner and the Tress Effects Gel.Eventually I discovered Naturallycurly and the Curly Girl book and since then I've learned how to find wonderful products that are far superior for my hair. I don't think Clear & Gentle is a bad shampoo at all, I just think it's not for my hair, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with dry hair. I'm certain it removes product residue and it would probably work great for a clarifying shampoo if you clarify with SLS/ALS cleaners. These days Ouidad's "typing" recommends the Climate Control products and the Co-wash for me,(they are all newer to the line than the Clear & Gentle & Balancing Rinse), and they are exactly what I need.

Good shampoo. Cleans without stripping. They changed the scent when they changed the packaging, and I definitely prefer the older scent. Does not change the product. I always have it on hand!

I like this shampoo but I agree that it dries the hair if used too often. I try to rotate it with a sulfate-free shampoo (which I also can't use by itself because it doesn't clean well enough for my very thick hair!) If only there were a middle ground...

Definitely not an every day shampoo. Tends to dry out hair if used too often.

I'm fairly impressed with this shampoo; it provides good cleaning with stripping and doesn't weigh my hair down.

I really enjoy this shampoo. It is clear and leaves no residue behind. I dilute it with a bit of water prior to applying it to my hair. No ill-effects from this whatsoever. Not completely crazy about the scent.

How disappointing! Seems a very inexpensive formula, much like the old castile-type shampoos.

Good to get rid of the 'cone-laden products my hairdresser likes to use on my hair but much too harsh for daily use. Cleans quite effectively but is very drying.

Hated it. I had been shampoo less for a few months but decided to try this one. It dried out my scalp and made it itchy, and made my hair feel like straw. After three uses I decided it wasn't for me.
