I have 3c/4a hair with some 3b in front. This product is so moisturizing and defines my curls and leaves it with movement. I get a medium hold out of this cream and it can be refreshed easily with a little water/refresher spritz. My hair is very needy, so I have to moisturize and seal every day and night and it has played well with everything that I have used thus far. There are several Curl Junkie products that I use and this is another hit for me!

I wasn't sure that this product would be enough for my thick, curly hair, but when I used it the first time I fell in love!!! It not only makes my hair soft, and manageable but gives great shine, and defines curls also.

Didn't really like this one. I bought it because so many people stated that it moisturized their hair. Not mine. It was dry and frizzy when I used it for a twist out. I tried not to use much because it is really thick. Won't buy it again

I have 4a type hair and I love this stuff. It moisturizers my hair beautifully and provides a wonderful shine. I mainly use this for twisting my hair...when I decide to wear it out it's not hard and my hair holds the twist out. I will purchase this product again.

This does not do much for me. I have 3c baby fine hair with low porosity. If I use a tiny bit, it has no visible effect and the smell is tolerable. If I use a lot, the smell is overpowering (coconut and mint, yuck). It makes my hair heavy and sticky. My hair looks and feels dirty like I haven't washed it in weeks. It does not soak into my hair or provide shine or decrease frizz. If I use only a small amount I just don't see any difference at all other than it feels a little gross. Will not buy again.

This product doesn't moisturize, define, or provide any type of hold no matter how I use it to style my hair. I've had it for months and at this point I'm only using it to get rid of it. It doesn't matter if I try to use it as an "all in one" or with other products.. it does nothing for my hair.

i have medium texture, normal porosity, low elasticity 3a hair. i've always had cccc as part of my 'stash,' found it sometimes worked very well in say mid dews. looking over the cj blog on low dews, i saw she listed cccc as being great to seal in moisture in low dews. so i added this into my low dew routine, and even going to a lighter leave in. we've had VERY low dews here, and i've been using a cj conditioner (mostly argan & olive oil) as my leave in, then smoothing thru some cccc, just a bit on top of hair and bottom, working it thru. then conning with routine, sealed. when my hair is dry i might add cj pattern pusha. well, not only has my hair been great, very curly in low dews on day 1, i've actually gotten great 2nd day hair, unheard of for me. i just add some cj pp to dry hair on day 2, wow. the only difference has been the cccc. i think it helps seal in moisture, a boost to my sealant, without adding heaviness. and it also adds moisture, all without being heavy. a little goes a long way. this jar lasts a long time.

I like this. I put it on after I get out of the shower on very wet hair. I have thick wavy hair that tends to poof and frizz. I really like this as a leave in- not greasy and doesn't weigh my hair down. I follow up with curl keeper and have had good frizz-free results but still too much poof, so now adding in a stronger gel as my third step. So I don't feel that the gel in the CCCC has much hold. You don't need to use much to get the leave in conditioner effects, I may experiment with using more and see what that does to control my poof.

i really wanted to love this for an all-in-one but meh.not enough slip for a leave in. no hold for my hair.ok as a styler but not at that price for 8oz. it is very concentrated though and a little goes a long way, but my hair dos better with looser consistency creams. this is pretty much solid, but very moisturizing. smells great. i get good results when paired with several other products :/ almost done with jar, will not repurchase. the CCCC lite on the other hand, love! my hair: fine, low porosity, curly kinky cokscrews, BSL

I am in love with this product for various reasons, but I will give you the main one. I love protective styles. This product is outstanding as a little goes a very long way. I would NOT recommend this product for twist outs or those kind of styles unless you are going to use something for hold as this product has a light hold. But, if you want a product for protective styling this is it. A LITTLE goes a VERY long way. Be careful if you use too much it will cause buildup. But, I am still using the same jar I bought months ago, and it barely has a dent. I love this stuff. IT IS A HOLY GRAIL. Will keep in my arsenal. I only subtracted one star for the price, even though I am so willing to pay it.

Lovely smell and gave my curls shine and I had a little bounce but this might have been from the Pater Pusha which I put on afterwards. Overall very nice product, and you just need a tiny bit so the big jar will probably last 2 years if not longer. I am still experimenting with other combinations but I do think it's one of the better products I have used so far.

2b/c, Fine, Thin, High/Normal Porosity, Normal Elasticity Curl Junkie Coffee-Coco Curl Creme, has quickly become one of my HGs! I use it as a Leave-in, before plopping. A little truly goes a long way! The consistency is thick, and creamy. I only apply a dime size amount {if that much} to my fine, soaking wet, shoulder length hair -- making sure to distribute it evenly throughout. My waves are happy, shiny, bouncy, defined, moisturized, and frizz free! No flaking, or white cast. Smells delicious. Well worth the price!

(4A/4B hair) Used this product as directed as an all-in one & with the smoothing lotion good results both times. Creamy mixture not too thick, provided good shine, does not require a lot of product to work but becareful of product buil up. For second day hair spritzed with aloe vera juice & water reapplied creme, very little required, & used the coco creme lite liked both results.

Have to edit this after a couple of months of use. As the weather has gotten cooler and I've begun defusing my hair, I find that this doesn't have enough hold. Any kind of blowing about with this product in equals frizz (even with the pixiecurl method). I need more hold to keep from looking fuzzy.

I have a mix of 3c and 4a plus a remaining texturized hair. This is the best styling product out there for a wash and go, it smells delicious, leaves my curls perfectly defined plus adds curl to the texturized hair, my hair is soft and manageable. For the second day I spray my hair with a mix of water and CJ smoothing lotion, scrunch a tiny bit of CJ curls in a bottle and voila!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PRODUCT! This is one of my staple products I use on my hair. It smells good, provides great hold for twist and braid outs as well as moisturize my hair. You don't need to use a lot because it can become residue-y if you pile it on. You will also want to use some oils on the hair because it can leave a dry feeling if you don't put anything on it until after it dries. Once you learn how to use this product with your regimen you can't go wrong! Love it! (It's expensive but worth it)

This is fabulous stuff! I can go three days with this in my hair and only wet it to reactivate the curls. Minor downside is by the end of the third day the ends of my hair feel a bit dry (something I've still got to work out). Otherwise, totally worth it for my hair.

I have used coffee-coco curl creme three times, each with somewhat different results. The first time I used it on soaking wet hair as a conditioner, leave in and styling product. My hair was very soft but also very frizzy. The second time I used it, again on soaking wet hair as a conditioner, leave in and added more coffee-coco to style and used a light amount of gel. This time my hair was weighed down by the amount of the product and still somewhat frizzy. The third time I used a different conditioner, used the coffee coco creme as a leave in and used my normal amount of styling gel, air dried and my hair was silky soft and no frizz. In all of my applications, the product left my hair so soft and shiny. It defined my curls and used in the right amount it does not weigh down the hair. You have to be very careful in the amount used because the product is thick especially for the curly hair that does not require much product. I loved the result from the first use, but did not work well as an all in one product as defined on the label, it works best with an added styling product. It has definitely become a regular in my curly hair care routine.

Very moisturized, light, fluffy, bouncy curls with 0 frizz!!! My hair looks and feels shiny and healthy. My curls have control without crunch. This one is going on my HG list.

I decided to try this as a styler since the CCCC Lite was definitely too light to work as anything but a refresher; this is a little too heavy. It works okay as a styler mixed with the Lite version, equal parts of the two products, but I still wasn't getting great curl definition. But this works wonders for me as a leave-in! I rake a quarter-sized dollop of this product into soaking wet hair, then flip it over and scrunch in whichever gel I'm using that day. Using this as a leave-in realy adds frizz control and counteracts the drying effect that some gels have. For reference, I have short, medium thickness 2c/3a curls.

Absolutely incredible product! Curls 3a/b, Medium-high porosity, medium/coarse texture, medium density, thick in sections. I thought I'd found the best of all possible products with Kinky-Curly Curling Custard...but then I tried this! I cannot get over how much my hair loves this stuff. I rake this through soaking wet hair, and my hair starts bouncing into curls while it's dripping. It's as though this gets every hair on my head to form ringlets without poof. I get better definition with this than anything else I've tried - and my curls don't bunch up into big clumps with this. I've been using it over a leave-in, but when the dew points are higher this works well alone. I swear my hair is suddenly growing faster than it's grown in years. The most outstanding detail about this creme is how soft it leaves my hair. It's hard for me to keep my hands out of my curls because it's thrilling to feel my hair so soft. I don't need to "scrunch" with this - there isn't a bit of hardening or "cast"! I can get longer curls with this than with any other product, but my hair still retains its "spring" factor. When I "elongate" with gels, I lose my spring and get frizz and flyaways. I co-wash my hair once a week, and I've found I can apply this cream over and over throughout the week, on wet hair, and there isn't a bit of buildup. My hair seems to get curlier and curlier until the day before "wash day". When I need frizz control and curl refresher on hair dried with Coffee-Coco Curl Creme, I've been using Curls In a Bottle. I rub a couple drips in my palms, rake it in and scrunch it, and I'm good. The Coffee-Coco and CIAB are a great team for my hair's frizz. For dryness, I use use Coffee-Coco Curl Creme Lite as my refresher on Coffee-Coco dried hair, because it gives a bodifying surge of moisture. I love to apply Coffee-Coco Curl Cream to soaking wet hair, pile it into my sleep bonnet, and wake up in the morning with the silkiest, shiniest curls ever. On bone dry low dewpoint days, despite its humectants, it keeps my hair feeling soft and healthy. When I'm dealing with "Mellow" curls, Sprial Solutions Firm Holding Styling Gel is excellent for adding some life back into my hair without using additional glycerin or other drying agents. The CCCC is almost like a hair treatment, not just a styler. This one jar of cream makes getting my hair to style beautifully seem easy. I've never said this before, about any product, ever; but I do believe I've found my Grail.

I do like this, but I prefer the Coffee Coco Curl Creme Light. I use the "lite" on dry hair as a refresher, and regular Coffee-Coco cream doesn't work well that way. Coffee-Coco Curl Creme smells delicious, and it has a thick, creamy texture. It's not runny at all, so hair has to be really soaked for it to spread well. It gives me a little definition, and a lot of softness and bounciness. Even though this is softening, it's not hugely moisturizing, so it doesn't get heavy feeling. I find this works best with additional gel for hold and definition.

I like this product. I still think Miss Jessie's products are my favorite for now but this is a great one too. I decided to try it since I'm addicted to their curl junkie deep treatment. I have 3c hair and I'm used to wetting my hair daily and applying product and letting air dry. I decided to shingle my hair (sectioning it and applying product in sections instead of all over at one time) and the next day I did not have to wet it like I normally do. This product has great hold while still keeping my hair soft and my curls bouncy. I really like it!

Nice product for my hair. It is a little light for my hair, my hair has a tendency of being dry, but works way better than most of the natural hair products that I have sampled so far and moisurized and conditioned my hair. It is pretty effective for me as a leave-in/styler for twist-out/braid outs. Works a million times better on my hair than the MissHoneyChild line. The smell is also a lot more pleasant than alot of natural hair care products. It is a light gardenia scent with a mild undertone of coffee butter, very mild background note of coffee from the coffee butter in the product. A pleasant light smell. It doesn't smell like dirt, and yes I have bought some stellar natural hair care products recently that quite literally smell like dirt. I am happy to give this product 4 starts. It loses a point because it could be slightly more moisturizing for those of us with dry hair. But it is a very solid all around conditioning styling product.

Great product. It really does work as a 2-in-1 product. I used this for my leave in and my styler. It did a great job detangling my hair. I did my hair in twists and I got a really great hold. I don't care for the smell at all. The texture is thick and creamy. I did not get any flaking with the product, but I did not use any other products with it. It did not provide a deep shine to the hair, but I have other products for that. Overall, this is a great product that I would repurchase. Wish it came in a larger size.

EXTREMELY disappointed in CURLMART. This was my first time ordering and I will never do so again. I ordered the Curl Junkie Coco Curl creme gel and it came with a broken top, which had caused it to spill out in the box. I had product all over my hands. Ironically, it was packaged very well....hmmmm, i dont know but i am UPSET. I paid 22.00 not to mention the shipping was way too long for me...I should have just ordered from Curl Junkie directly as I was going to do at first.

Meh, not as great as I'd hoped. I have 3c (front/sides/nape) to 4a (crown) hair that's incredibly fine. I used this product on my twist outs (it's too think for a styling product) and it left my hair dry w/a residue-type texture. I've used it alone and on top of CJ Daily Hair Condish. No such luck for me. Great smell and consistency though. I won't be purchasing it again. I'll try it a few more times, but if it fails I'll just give it away.

I had to wash my hair out and go back to my true blue routine of Curl Junkie BeautiCurls Leave-in Hair Conditioner and Curl Junkie Curl Queen Hair Styling Gel. I contacted CJ to find out why this happened, they responded back quickly and kindly, stating that I should try with soaking hair, I did that and it still didn't work. Waste of $ and Time. Went back to routine. Just wanted to try this to see if it gave me better results than what I usually get with CJ products. @curly206

Too much protien for me. I think if your protien sensitive this is not for you. When I did rinse it out.... my hair was very clumped and strengthen but it's too expensive just to rinse out.

This product gives good curl formation, it smells nice, and a little goes a long way. The only thing is after my hair has dried this seems to leave a sticky film over it but I like it nonetheless.

I ordered this product about 3 weeks ago and have been using it pretty consistently since then. I used this product with a leave in underneath and it left my hair touchably soft with just the right amount of hold. My curls were defined as if I had used the Kinky Curl Knot Today and Curling Custard but there was no crunch. I received plenty of compliments after using this product. Also, my hair was left extremely moisturized and very shiny. I will definately be repurchasing this product in the future.

Great styler...very moisturizing. I use this under KCCC or AOMM with a little CIAB on top. Have to try it alone....so far I get great curls from this.

This is a really good curl creme...however, the smell is a little too flowery for me. I got a bit of hold and a ton of moisture.

I love Curl Junkie, but this product didn't go well with my 3c curls. When my hair is wet it goes in nicely. It feels slick, smooth & moisturized, but when my dries it's frizzy & dry- very strange b/c I am told that cremes go better than gels etc w/ my hair type..So far that doesn't seem to be true b/c I've had similar experiences w/ other cremes. Anyway, I also thought this product was too heavy for my hair so I'm going to try the 'light' version.

I got this as part of my curly cocktail (3C)set I bought a few months back. It's great if you like to have medium hold in your hair. Also, I find the key is to apply a little at a time while styling your hair. I apply it in sections of my hair and then pin it help with curl formation before unraveling and doing the "rake n' shake". The smell is lovely and not too intense. Overall, it's a good product and worth trying at least once.

I love this product! I did a lot of research on this site to try to find the perfect product for my 3c curls. This smells fantastic. It helps define my curl and holds them just enough. I don't find it conditioning enough though so I use a leave in and coconut lotion too. The price is steep but worth it because a little goes a long way so I'll be using it for quite a while.

It took a few tries to figure out that I don't need to use very much of this product to get results, but after figuring that out, I loved it! My curls are well defined and last for days. I just leave in my conditioner from the shower, then rake this in over it.

I have fine, frizzy, highlighted blonde hair. I really like this. It really moisturized my hair. I love the smell, too. I like this as much if not better than Kinky-Curly because it can be used with other brands without problems. I do like Kinky curly Spritz since the Custard is too heavy. This didn't seem heavy to me but I might try the light next time since my hair is fine.

This is my all-time favorite curl creme. It works magic on my 3A hair: big, bouncy, soft, well-defined curls. It works best with puddles of water scrunched in after (supersoaker method), followed by a hard-hold gel. I use the lite version in the winter because my hair is glycerin-sensitive.

I have very fine light weight 3C Curls, so I need a lot of moisture and a lot of hold in my products (without being crunchy). I have been using Coffee-Coco Curl Creme with Wild Woozle Pomade, and it's a great combo. I just need about 1t of the Coffee-Coco Curl Creme, and it provides pretty good weight as well as nice curl definition. My only complaint is that it doesn't hold if its really windy, or I leave the house without my hair being fully dry. Also when putting my hair up, I think I would want a stronger products that will really hold things in place. And the smell is great.

My HG! I have been using CCCC for almost 2 years. I use this after a light leave in (I like Bumble & Bumble Leave In/Rinse Out) on soaking wet hair. Then I plop for 10 min and diffuse. The result: beautiful, clumpy, frizz-free curls. It provides the weight and moisture that my curls need. I've tried tons (and tons and tons) of styling products and now this is THE ONE for me!! The only caveat is it doesn't have enough hold for 2nd day hair. I'm still looking for a way to refresh & re-energize my 2nd day hair without causing frizz.

I give this 5 curls for my daughters hair. It was amazing for her..amazing. The very best curls she has ever had. We needed no gel or other product except for a leave in with this. On my hair it was not so great. It did work when I used the Curl Assurance Hair Styling Water first but it was not consistent. We LOVE the smell and consistency of this--its just yummy!

I love this product. When used alone it did have enough hold for my curls - it left me frizzy, but when used in equal proportions with Kinky-Curly it provides great moisture and the KCCC gives it enough hold and shine for fantastic curls! I love the smell but the moisturizing effect is best for my ever dry hair. So try it layerd with your KCCC and see what dramatic results you get!!

Im a bit confused about this product. What is it for? I really like the smell and it is moisturizing but idk. It's pretty heavy and dosen't do so great under my hairgel. Dosen't add much shine. Not to much hold really either.I think i will just use it to slick my hair back into a bun. I need to play around with it more. Did i mention how good it smells. Yummy

I had high hopes for this but it's too heavy for my 3b hair. It does give good curl formation, but I'm thinking the protein is a bit much for my hair b/c my hair has a weird texture after I use it, can't explain it. If you havesuper thick and dense hair you will love this product.

  • This is by far my holy grail of all products. I have tried a ton of products from NC and this one is the best of all of them. Once my hair is wet I put leave-in conditioner in, and then use a quarter sized amount and scrunch it through. I have no crunchies, no frizzies, it makes my hair soft/hydrated, and it smells sweet and yummy...

If there were 5 curls, I'd rate it a 5! I can't believe I'm writing a review, but I had to, this is the best. I FINALLY have the hair I've wanted. The curls I see on other people that I want. NO frizz, soft, natural looking but great hold. I've tried everything. I feel like this is the best kept secret to perfect (is it possible?) curls. Not just curls, but perfect hair.

My hair: 3c/4a This product gives me my hair great moisture and curl definition. I do find that less is more, as it does tend to weigh my hair down if I use too much. This has a great scent light scent. I love all of the natural ingrediants too.

After reading the good reviews of this product, I purchased it from CurlMart. Unfortunately, my hair doesn't agree with it. All the oils it contains (which are natural) do a great job of moisturizing it but also weighed my hair down too much.
