If your client is trying to grow-out a relaxer, consider using a light Thio relaxer on the area
between the straight hair and the curly hair to soften the abrupt gradation. A thio-based
relaxer would be best, but the relaxed hair has to be protected when itís applied.

Before rinsing the Thio Relaxer out, saturate the ends with water so the hair won't absorbs the relaxer as it is rinsing out onto the ends. This will do far less damage to your clientís hair and allow it to look its best during the growing-out phase.

Keep the hair as straight as possible and moisturized during the growing-out period.
Be extra careful when combing through the hair -- especially where the curly and straight hair meet.
